I just had an idea (though I already know that at some point, which we perhaps should revolt at that point anyway, that they’re gonna catch on and try and ban it) of how to get around the ACA and lousy care.
We could have private independent doctors. i.e. doctors that are outside of hospitals or insurance plans and just offer one on one care with individuals. It would be more like ”vendor doctors” and it could be individual and could even have prices arranged if needed between doctor and patient. It could in fact be less expensive for users (unless the libs jack the fine up to 25% of something, at which point we should revolt anyway) than the old system and it could help us get out of the ACA system and STILL get care. As the doctor wouldn’t be working for either the state exchange or a private insurance company, or, indeed, a hospital, they could accept those with preexisting conditions. And, I think they may be able to get away with it as a sort of loophole in the ACA. I think we could fight this in the courts if they DID try and go after the patients and/or doctors. This isn’t necessarily a health insurance plan and we’d pay the fine (or not as they can’t make us legally according to the ACA) .
I think we could actually do BETTER for a while. However, we can’t let this be TOO open or the libs will pounce and flat out ban it. Think it’s a good idea or is it dumb (or already banned by the ACA)?
Also, if need be, we could go to people with medical degrees who AREN'T in the exchange and do private business with them. It would be little different than selling a car between two people, at least in theory. We could do individual visits. That way, we can keep out of the ACA and not have to worry about what'll happen if we get really sick. (Also, I might add, that, like the old system, if we get in a nasty car wreck, until the libs decide if we're not gonna join, than we're not worthy to live, at which point we DEFINITELY should revolt and drive them into the sea, anyway, that we can just go to the emergency room like we could under the old system. The ACA hasn't changed that I think.) We could just go for individual dental visits. While those that are the sickest may need to go into the ACA or always use the emergency room, though even they could, if necessary, still work with individual doctors, even those with preexisting conditions who don't need lots of chemo or stuff like that can go stay out of the exchange.
