I've found that Common Core is violating at least issue in the State Constitution. It is NOT providing "education of the highest quality". What's more, if I read the state education budget for 2013 correctly, then, even if all the stuff that's not labeled as "federal" is state initiated, a tall order, but, even taking that as given, then the state is still NOT the primary sponsor and funder of education. That ALSO violates the State Constitution.
I got ideas from Mark Levin and decided to email everyone in the Illinois General Assembly (or all that I could get their email for) and when I say "all", I mean ALL.
Some said that though we have things so bad that only about 1/4 high school students that graduate are ready for college, yet they think it's ok to implement Common Core and more federal stuff. Others want to slow down Common Core. It seems the Board of Education gave the General Assembly the order to implement Common Core and the General Assembly had no say on the matter.
Also, I should add that the General Assembly is allowed to provide alternative FREE public education (as long as it's not religious affiliated) via the State Constitution.
I had thought of going after Common Core right away to stop kids from having to do stuff I've been hearing that has happened in schools (i.e. Assignments where kids are told that the Bill of Rights is outdated and needs to be updated, Assignments where kids are asked to play as medical "death panels", etc.)
However, a better strategy is to push for school vouchers. The failing school systems in Chicago seem a great place to target. Once we get the vouchers, actually using the argument that it's anti-racist as it helps minorities, then we'll get stronger. Holder and Quinn may interfere but I think, with God's help, we can defeat them.
In time, we'll invoke the State Constitution and call for the removal of all state officials that back Common Core, claiming that they violated their oath of office to uphold the Illinois Constitution.
We'll also get schools to exercise civil disobedience and not implement Common Core. If Obama and the Department of Brainwashing (the DOE) cut the funding, the state of Illinois is REQUIRED to fund them as the state is supposed to be the primary funder anyway. If the governor interferes, we issue a recall on him or her for violating his/her oath of office.
We eventually get rid of Common Core in Illinois. Other states, many of which also require the highest quality of education, will also attack it.
Once we get rid of Communist Core, then we go after the DOE, citing it as the reason for failing national standards. In short, we start up from the state and go to the national level to take down Common Core, and, ultimately, the Department of Education itself. If we save education, we can save the future generations from becoming statist tools. If we LOSE, then the game is almost certainly lost as we'll never be able to win with the Liberty Amendments if all future generations won't take up the fight after we're gone. We'll go extinct and the libs will have won.
Also, this education is trying to get rid of absolute standards of right and wrong. Also, it has barred a student from writing about God. They are teaching that the Founding Fathers were extremists (I had a college history professor that compared the Boston Tea Party to terrorists.)
